Get the most out of your mic preamps. Use your preamps as line-level saturation devices, or pad their output so you can drive them harder.

The L2P is a two-channel, balanced line/mic pad with two attenuation options. The -10dB setting is perfect for padding the output of mic preamps so you can run them hot without clipping your converters. The -30dB setting is a "line-to-mic" pad that allows you to run tracks directly from your audio interface or mixer to the inputs of your preamps.

Features:

  • Selectable -10dB or -30dB pads
  • Two channels
  • Excellent matching between channels for stereo operation
  • Line-to-mic pad
Input Impedance 8.1k/5.5k (line out / mic out)
Output Impedance 2.7k/150

    Perfect

Great little box to allow you to send sound from your interface to external preamps, or to reduce gain from outboard processing before coming back into your DAW.

    I have two.

    They were easy to make.

Fun project that does what I need

This was a fun, quick project. I put this together in about 20 minutes and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Literally doesn’t have a “sound” to it. Super transparent, no noise either. Good stuff!

Great tool, super fun and fast to build

Eventually you will need or at least want one of these if you have a home or pro studio. It's a simple circuit and fun to build too.

Couldn't be happier, super grateful in Australia

As a long-time musician realising the joys of tinkering, audio engineering, live sound, recording and self-producing, DIYRE RULES. Peterson explains everything really well, prices are great, device's simplicity, ruggedness and functionality show a lot of thought and care for the end-user and the transparency is incredibly refreshing. Nothing proprietary here, baby!! I use my Re-Amp box for pedals/synths/weird gear every day and the Line Attenuator has been super handy for hot signals in my growing home studio. I plan on soldering together my own D-Sub loom to play around with the Passive Mixer down the track, too many rewarding projects to count!

Get after it, you won't regret it!

    Simple and effective

Brings down a line level signal to mic level. Easy build with very good instructions. If I can solder and assemble this, you can too heh.
