I love mic boosters concept. I own Soyuz boosters, which adds lots of color and saturation. So this MB2 is a great addition to my mic tools arsenal as I wanted another clean mic booster. It was easy to solder / assemble it. As I said I compared it with my Soyuz boosters and remained very pleased with the result. It's same amount of gain boosting and different tone (uncolored). This is my my third DIY project after two re:amp boxes and two summing boxes. I can see my soldering abilities are getting better!
The MB2 is a quick and easy build. The documentation and labeling of the PCB aid in the build process. I look forward to future builds from DIY RE.
Got this recently and built it quickly (quality is great and soldering is very easy and forgiving on these boards). Used it fine for a few days until one of the channels started buzzing more than the other. Turns out a transistor had a internally shorted. I emailed the service dept. and they sent a replacement transistor priority mail, which arrived not 2 days later. Now the product is right back to service and sounding/working great with my R88 stereo ribbon. Just an absolute pleasure doing business with this company.
